Words broken off in empty woods
filled with a certainty of dissonance.
Silence stamped onto
The fragments of shattered plates,
I step methodically over burnt bodies
As I catch my glance in a puddle.
Brown eyes moistened by pebbles
Thrown over shallow creeks;
A final step with breath,
My throat catches wisdom.
But with pills in hand and
Lemon-lime liquid gargled down,
I take peace as I float lifelessly
Downstream into the treacherous debris.
